The international conference Dynamics of Tradition: Law and Theology in Relation brings together international and local experts to discuss the histortical and ongoing relationship between Islamic theology (kalām), legal theory (uṣūl al-fiqh), and law (fiqh). Scholars of islamic law, systematic theology, intellectual history and related fields from Germany, the USA, UK and elsewhere offer a range of inter-disciplinary perspectives that promises to offer new perspectives on Islamic history, culture and politics.
